Why Hope Is Not a Strategy Is Poor Advice

There is a vast difference between hope and wishing. In business, 'hope is not a strategy' is often used to downplay optimism.

Hope is good If it creates action and not dreaming

There is a vast difference between hope and wishing. In business, 'hope is not a strategy' is often used to downplay optimism.

For example: "I hope we have a great year." Or, "I hope to do X in sales in May."

Or in general: "I hope the weather is good next weekend." And so on.

To me, hope is something I have control over, and I can take actions to get the results I want. It gives me optimism.

As long as I take action or stop something that is not in my best interests, there is always hope!

But being passive and wishing is not for me!

Somerset Maugham wrote: "It's a funny thing about life, if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it."

It is very easy to predict your future, but be careful; you may not like what you envision.

I am the type of personality with duplicates or more of most things: a second pair of glasses, car keys, house keys, cell phone, etc.

You are exactly where you are right now because results do not lie.
